Florida Residents

Yesterday we became Florida Residents after being on the road over two years.  We have new plates and DL’s.  The 10th was our two year nomadversary.  We broke out the Blantons and the etched bottle of Jack.  It’s hard to believe we are into our third year after setting out to do this for one.   The truck rolled past 100,000 yesterday too.  It’s been a great vehicle and has fit every need/task we’ve put it in.  On the way home from the tax collectors office we stopped at Hiatus Brewery in Ocala and enjoyed a beer/seltzer and a pretzel.  It’s also worth a stop.   This past weekend we had a great meet up with some friends and fellow nomads down in Homosassa.  We went to the wildlife state park and checked that out.  It’s an outdoor zoo/rehabilitation facility for injured native species.  It is definitely worth the trip if you are in the area.  After our tour we went to The Freezer and had some wings which were really good. ...

Random Things

For Thanksgiving we had a potluck with about 100 people from the park.  The owners of the park put in a lot of work and even did a raffle for attendees, very thoughtful.  There was a ton of good food and it’s fun seeing what other folks holiday tradition meals are.   We’ve both been working a bit and I’m having a good time at the hardware store.  It’s pretty stress free and helping people in a different way than I’m used to.  It looks like Katy May pick up a few extra days in a neighboring district after the Christmas break.   Based on some recommendations we checked out Horseshoe Beach, the Dixie Mainline, Shired Island and Suwannee again.  It was a nice day trip where we packed a picnic and headed out.  It was a little wavy so the water was pretty brackish.  We stopped at Fanning Springs State Park on the way back and walked around the boardwalks and checked the spring out.  The water is beautiful, but it’s just a swimming hole with no...
