Travel Day preparations and BLM Boondocking
I know...two days for the price of one again. We are a few miles NE of Quartzite, AZ. Yesterday we prepped for travel by shopping and restocking our supplies. We just realized we should have been making a pilgrimage to California Costco's for alcohol all these years. We should be stocked up for a bit.
We established a mail location in Arizona and got tacos at a great local place in Palm Desert. Batteries plus bulbs was on the list for dog collar batteries. We also stopped at Shields for a Famous Date Shake. Tommy Russell was correct as it was very good. We also picked up a 9 pack of stuffed dates for after dinner desserts.
This morning, we left Indio at about 11:50, just before the checkout time. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Indian Waters RV and I (Tom) even inquired about a job there next winter. The ride over to AZ was very windy and caused the truck and trailer to rock back and forth quite a bit. It also took a toll on the ol' gas mileage. We stopped at Daniel's Jerky stand and then rolled out to the BLM spots we found on Campendium.
It didn't take long to get things leveled out and we set up our camp chairs. The dogs got hitched to the big kettlebell and hung out on their bed. There's a few low to the ground Cholla Cactus around and we didn't want them to get snagged up in them. The full moon rise was awesome and we made burgers on the grill. We also worked on figuring out the settings on my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
