Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

Yesterday we walked a lot, like 8 miles a lot.  A couple of walks with the kids and then we spent nearly 3 hours at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.  This museum is probably one of the nicest, well thought out museums we have ever been to.

The people who designed this place put a lot of effort into blending the exhibitions right into the landscape.  The exhibits are all related to Arizona and or the stretch of the vast Sonoran Desert including the Colorado River Watershed.  There were quite a few families treating it as a school day for their “students” which I thought was creative.

After touring the 12 unique zones at the museum, we came back and walked the dogs again.  They did great in the trailer alone.  We played a few games of Yahtzee and then went to meet Sue to pick up our dinner.

We cooked the pasties and watched the sun go down.  It was a great day.  80* for the high and 46* for the low.

  1. Loving your blog...reminds us of all the traveling we did in our motorhome across the U.S for years. We also loved the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Since you're in the Tucson area, have you visited the "boneyard"? Don't know if they're still offering tours during Covid, though.
Looking forward to more of your adventures...Susie & Ted Atlee

    1. The boneyard is closed to entry. The air and space museum is open. I found your Corsair.

    2. Too bad the boneyard is closed. The Pima Air Museum has a pretty comprehensive variety of warbirds. Unfortunately, I'm sure most of those outside are not in the best shape any more. Ahhhhh, yes, the beautiful Corsair!
