Sah-WAH-row
We got up and took the kids for a walk yesterday around the park here. It’s awesome being right in the desert, so unique. We then drove across Tucson to Saguaro National Park East. That is pronounced properly in the title. There are two areas of high concentration Saguaros in the Tucson Area. The West National Park is really close to our campground.
There were a series of cold weather events on the east park that froze and killed some of the cactus and thinned it out quite a bit. The park was still very unique and worth the 9 mile loop drive. It would be cool to do on a road bike.
Speaking of bikes, we brought my bike to a Kona dealer and they said it’ll still be good to go as an aluminum alloy bike. Glad we don’t have to buy a new bike just yet.
We took a ride out to Colossal Cave to take a tour, but they were closed for the day. The last tour was at 2pm. There was a good amount of traffic to get back and it took longer than we thought. We stopped at Trader Joe’s for some staples and continued back to the campground. We took another walk and met some folks from Medford who’ve been traveling for quite a while. They are now home based in Boise.
We’ve been on the road for 5 weeks and have found the cure for COVID. It’s in the pictures.
