Austin, Longhorns, BBQ and No Sleep

Yesterday we made bacon in the air fryer again, it was awesome.  We did a kettlebell workout and walked the dogs a few times.  Shopping for the next week was on the list.  We are also still under a boil notice that could have caused us a problem.  More on that later.

We hit Costco and Whole Paycheck for some supplies.  We also went to Petco which was in a sketchy part of north Austin.  There were Austin PD all over the place so it must be safe right.?  There are tent cities with water and porta potties all over the place.  Just about anywhere there is an overpass.  With services you’d think they would be clean areas (I would think) but that is far from the truth.

Based on a recommendation from Tim, we went to Rudy’s BBQ for a late lunch.  We split a half rack of Baby Backs and some brisket with a small coleslaw.  It was great 10/10.  This is the first time we’ve had Texas BBQ in the month we’ve been in Texas.  Katy said it’s the best BBQ she has ever had.  For me, it is right up there with St Louis BBQ.

We came back and walked the dogs.  Even with the fan on in the trailer it got to 84*.  I guess that means we need to keep the A/C on when we leave.  We also did a little reorganization in Sis and the truck.  I also added the new vinyl stickers to Lola.

Katy found a recipe on Tastes Lovely for a beef stew.  It was paleo/keto and was 👌👌.  We’ll definitely make that one again.  It was pretty easy to make and we tag teamed the process. We also fed some carrots to the Longhorns.

A while after the dogs ate, Maggie seemed like she needed to puke.  I took her out several times with no luck.  We had a little 3% peroxide on hand and a few shots of that did the trick.  Unfortunately the smallest amount came out of her outside and the majority was in Sis.  She seems to be doing good now.  I think she may have had a hairball, the heat got to her or the boil water advisory means for dogs too.

Duncan then got up at 1, 3, 5 and 630 with diarrhea.  We made it outside for all of them as he is not quiet at all.  I also had to wipe his a$$ of excess liquids 🥴.  I made a pot of rice this morning and both of them are off hard food till it’s gone.  Rice and chicken broth are the meals of the day.  Again, it could be the heat or the boil advisory applies to dogs too.  On a side note, I had a 32oz bottle of the same water with salt, potassium and magnesium in it and I’m doing ok.  We do have a filter on the hose coming into the trailer.
