Ice, Ice, Baby

Well, we made our way up to Spring Branch yesterday.  We had to take a detour because a road was closed due to freezing rain.  Our outside (campsite) spigot froze but we were able to use a hairdryer to fix it.

The drive started at 31* and light mist and ended in the 20s with freezing rain.  We drove around Tim’s house in the yard and got over by the garage to set up.  I nearly fell on the iced over concrete and Tim wasn’t far behind.  After a few failed attempts to level, we pulled further up the driveway.  It looked like a good spot so we started to set up.  The tires were chalked and blocked.  Apparently we were still on some ice.  As I was using the jack to lift the trailer off the truck, it rotated towards the driver side and fell off the blocks.  Thankfully, nothing broke.  We leveled front to back and left it where it lays.

We turned the heat on and let the dogs run offline.  They were super excited and we stuffed them back in the truck.  We took a ride to Walmart for supplies and must have been the only ones not paying attention to the weather emergency.  The meat section was pretty barren along with the water, paper towels and toilet paper.

We got back, fed the dogs, put them in the trailer and had dinner.  Did a load of laundry indoors or at a laundromat, had dinner and sat in the hot tub.  This is the 3rd house we’ve been in since Sept 21.

Woke up to a good amount of ice today.  1/8-1/4”.  Not going anywhere for a while.
