Johnson City, LBJ and Texas Wine

Yesterday we stopped at the boyhood home of Lyndon Baines Johnson and took a walking tour of their family ranch. It was cool to see the area as it was back in the olden days. The town of Johnson city is pretty tiny quaint and cute.

We then continued west towards Texas wine country and stopped at a few places along the way. Our first stop was Heath sparkling wines and grape Creek vineyards. We met a nice couple who were celebrating their second wedding anniversary and did a tasting with them, followed by a glass of wine out on the patio. It was a really nice afternoon. The sparkling wine was really good we ended up with maybe a couple of bottles. We ended our travels at Messina Hof winery which is a harvest host member so we ended up camping here with two other couples.

Today we will be going back to grape Creek after checking out the town of Fredericksburg.
