On the Road Again
Yesterday was an easy drive day from South Padre to Corpus Christi which is right by Padre Island. The drive was under 3 hours and 200 miles. These are the drive days we like. We did have another run in with a Wide Load semi. He had the audacity to pass us twice. Once before the Border Patrol Checkpoint and once after. Katy was able to snag a few pictures of the truck.
We are at the Corpus KOA which has only been open about 8 months. It is really nice, the facilities are immaculate and it’s right on the water. We got set up pretty early, walked the dogs and took a ride to Padre Island. Needed a few things from ACE Hardware. Speaking of ACE, most of these places are family owned and we’ve really enjoyed using them as much as possible over the big box stores. Having operated T&K Firearms, I know why they charge a few bucks more for a crescent wrench and it’s OK.
We came back to the campground and started 4 loads of laundry. Ate Tamales from Grandmas Tamales (pork and jalapeño cream cheese). They were good. Shower, shave and beard trim followed by 20/20. Good day overall.
Oh, on a side note our bottom kitchen drawer shot out and was laying right on the floor when we got here. 🥴
