South Central Hill Country
I thought we had driven through “hill country” from Del Rio to SPI...we hadn’t compared to this area. Yesterday was a drive day from Corpus to Lakehills, TX which is on Medina Lake. The drive was pretty easy and it was nice to get out of the humidity. Our salt lamp was even sweating.
We arrived at Thousand Trails Medina Lake and found a spot. The park is a little older but we got set up in a good location. We think someone used to live in this site as it needs some love. We did a quick Costco run...not really quick as it was a 45 minute drive. We called our neighbor Fran on the drive in and it was good to catch up with her.
Costco wasn’t too much of a zoo and our Apple Car Play map took us around the slow traffic to get home. There are deer everywhere here. They are Whitetail and half the size of Michigan deer. I saw a nice young buck by the laundromat and was able to get him to stop running by shaking a bag of quarters. I heard somewhere through the grapevine that they think it’s corn and they’re going to get fed.
I know what your thinking...they do a lot of laundry. We do. Especially when everything is wet from the humidity. We normally could have gotten away with two loads of clothes and not all the bedding.
This morning, it’s pouring rain and windy. Who knows what the day will bring. These pics are from yesterday.
