Reflections from the Road
Yesterday we hit the 12 week or 3 month mark. We are 1/4 of the way into our year on the road. For us this trip has mostly been “Ups” with only a few minor dips. It’s really put things into perspective. Katy and I came up with the name No_More_Someday while on a trip to Washington last year. We were having a glass of wine on the water in LaConner. We were talking about how we and other people would always say, “someday I will do this or that.” Or the, “I wish I would have done this or that.”
That name has a lot of meaning to us and it’s in my opinion only gained a stronger meaning. Seeing and listening to friends and family go through trials and hardships is eye opening. It makes us realize we are blessed to be doing what we are doing and that tomorrow is not a guarantee. Tell your friends and family that you love them. “They know I love them...”. Tell them more often. Also, take the trip, do the excursion, go to the restaurant.
On to what we did yesterday. We drove from Natchitoches to Breaux Bridge. We are staying at a Harvest Host again which we are really enjoying. This one is Champagne Cajun Swamp Tours. We did the one hour boat tour and it was amazing. Thousands of turtles, a couple dozen alligators, thousands of birds and some big fish. Our setting is really nice, we have a great view of Lake Martin. Going to take Katy for Crawfish today. On to Baton Rouge tomorrow.
