Okeechobee FL

Yesterday we tried to beat the heat.  High of 86 with 70% humidity.  We walked the dogs before it got too hot, turned the AC on in the trailer for them and took a nice little bike ride.  From the KOA, we took the sidewalk towards the lake and then the trail to the park.  At the top of the levee is the Florida trail.  If you go east it stops at a Lock that lets boats come and go from the lake to the channels around it.

The ride was nice and level with a good breeze.  We saw lots of birds, lizards, a dead snake, alligator and a giant turtle.  I think it was a soft shell.  After our ride we putzed around the camper, getting things ready for our move today.  I tried the KOA adult pool out, no one was there and it was nice having the place to myself.  The shade under the awning at the trailer was nice too.

Speaking of the KOA, this was a great park.  Not a lot of people around.  The park is well kept and the staff  is super friendly.

We played some Yahtzee after I went to get diesel and some AC air filters.  Speaking of diesel, there was a small creature stuck under the glass by the diesel pump.  Someone may have been trying to tell me that diesel is dead dinosaurs.

We met a couple in the park from Wisconsin and their son is a police officer.  We know some of the same people, kinda cool.  The bikes are again stored in the back of the truck with the kids, hopefully that goes well.

We did a marinated flank steak for dinner last night and watched our favorite full time travelers on YouTube.  Overall it was a good day.
