The Road to Savannah
Yesterday we got up and walked the dogs a few laps around the campground. We slowly packed up and got on the road at about 11. Our low tire from the other day had lost about 15lbs of pressure. We headed for the local Walmart Tire Center and Katy headed in to grocery shop while I had the trailer looked at. I also found that our anti-sway is in tough shape. I called them and they are going to send us a new part.
In my inspection, I hadn’t seen anything. When the mechanic came out, he found the lag bolt that’s been causing the air to come out. We lowered the spare and found its a match to the other tires and rims. I solo backed the trailer into the bays twice as the first time I was still blocking a semi. We put the spare on and they were able to fix the tire vs us buying a new spare for $70. It was a bit of work and only cost us $15.
We headed out to the 95 and pointed the truck north towards Savannah. Traffic wasn’t bad and the road was in pretty good shape. We made a couple of stops along the way too. The truck also pulled fine without the anti sway.
Our first stop was the Georgia Peach World Farm. We had a peach wine slush and walked around a bit. While there, we learned they are new Harvest Hosts. We bought some Dilly beans and some peach ice cream too. The petting zoo would be great for kids. They have some cute animals. There is also a ton of space for Harvest Hosts.
The second stop was at Nine Line Apparel and Black Rifle Coffee Company. It’s a match like peanut butter and tuna fish. (Who knows that movie reference?). We picked up a bag of coffee and a shirt for me. It’s a great store with great items and amazing people. If you don’t know about either company, check them out.
It was a short drive over to our state park. Skidaway Island State Park is closer to the coast than Savannah and is near Tybee Island. The park is nice, it’s also big. The trees are amazing, oaks covered in Spanish Moss. We took a long walk and then made cauliflower pizzas in the Emeril Oven.
