Back to Yorktown
We headed down to the American Revolution Museum yesterday. We had purchased the Jamestown and Museum ticket combo. The museum is very well set up and we recommend catching the short films along the way.
The outside exhibits are really cool. We chatted with a guy who has been playing the role of a soldier in Washington’s army. He has had this job for 20 years. His spiel on muskets and war of the era is really smooth. He also runs a musket faster than anyone I’ve seen. I should’ve filmed him. Four aimed shots per minute with a muzzloader.
After the museum, we headed down to the waterfront in Yorktown. It’s a really nice area and worth a look. We had lunch at the Water Street Grille. Katy had a lobster roll and I had Mahi Tacos. Surprise, surprise. It was a good stop in a good location. The waterfront and beaches along the York River were busy.
We got back in the afternoon and walked the dogs a few times in the heat. 87* inland at the campground.
