Our First Hipcamp
Yesterday we drove from Norlina to White Oak, which is just outside of Fayetteville. The drive was almost 3 hours due to the route we took. If I could do it over, I would’ve stayed off the 1 and took the “long way” down the 85 to the 40 to the 95. There was a lot of traffic with a lot of stoplights. Not ideal for towing.
When we arrived at our Hipcamp site Cedar Creek Campground, we met the owner and got set up pretty easily in #2. We have a water hookup and sewer. This will be a good 3 day test on the batteries and solar. I think there are 15 sites here, one has full hookups. It was $15 a nite and is really quiet back here.
We walked the dogs and relaxed for the afternoon. It was nearly 90 with no breeze. We had burgers for dinner and tried to watch a movie, but service was spotty for some reason last night. There were also a ton of fireflies, it was really cool to see. Neither of us could remember the last time we saw that many.
Going to be 93* today with no AC.
