The Road to Asheville

It started off as a rainy morning yesterday.  We got our workout in, packed up and hit the road by 11-ish.  We had an hour and 20 minute drive down to Asheville.  The drive was
pretty and pretty uneventful which is a good thing.

We drove through Black Mountain and a few other nice small towns you’d probably never hear of unless you are on the backroads.  The set up process went smoothly and we had a quick snack.  We then drove into Asheville which is a lot like Bend, but greener.  It was really busy with the Memorial Day weekend.  One of the breweries had a line about 50yds long to get in.  There were so many people walking around, we left and decided to come back on Monday.

We then did a quick Trader Joe’s shop and came back to hang out for the afternoon.  We got some walks in, boiled some brats in beer and relaxed.  We’ve got a “couple” of ducks that like to hang out with us and the dogs.

On a side note, the park we were staying in was Green Mountain Park in Lenoir, NC.  It was one of the nicest Thousand Trails Parks we’ve been in.
