Wait, what?

We are in North Carolina.  Another state in the books (12), but we are rolling back down to Myrtle Beach today.  Yesterday we drove about 4 hours up to Silver Coast Winery which is a Harvest Host.  We had the place to ourselves last night.

We rolled in at about 3pm and did a tasting and shared a bottle.  We met some nice people at the winery and the owners were really nice too.  The wines are good and on the drier side which we like and haven’t been able to find since we got east of Texas.

The area around the winery grounds is really nice, we were able to break out the Chuck-it for the dogs to wear them out.  There’s a ton of mowed open fields so you can throw a long ways.

I almost forgot to mention how the day started yesterday.  Our elderly neighbors at Thousand Trails were going to pull their fifth wheel forward to dump the tanks and they hadn’t locked their king pin in.  He just about ripped his tailgate off (we ended up having to) and the front end came crashing down on the bed of the truck.  It took me and another neighbor about 30 minutes to help get him squared away.  He was pretty flustered but held it together.  His wife never left the truck and only pulled her head out of her James Patterson novel to say good morning after I started pulling stuff out of their backseat.
