Bonus Post. 6 Months In
Today is our 6 month Anniversary of being on the road. Here are some stats and questions we have received along the way.
•Miles driven: 17,965. 30 Of those driven by Katy after I’ve given blood and doing laundry (one time of which she hit a wood planter box 😂)
•Most Expensive Diesel: $3.79 in Weed CA. Cheapest diesel: $2.09 in Alomogordo, NM.
•We’ve been in 14 States on this trip so far. •We are both originally from the UP of Michigan, but had been living in Oregon for almost 14 years.
* FAQ’s.
•You two are too young to be retired, are you rich? -No, not even close, we have to get jobs soon!!!
•How are the dogs doing? -Duncan is the Brown one and Maggie is gray and brown. They are both good, they are happy to be with us all the time.
•Have you found a place to settle yet? -Not yet. We would like to go back to Florida next winter, Boone NC at some point and we still have a bunch of states to go.
•What’s your favorite place so far? -So many states have unique places and we’ve enjoyed all the states we’ve been in. Although we weren’t in MS long enough to really explore.
•Have you had any unexpected costs? -Laundry is more than we expected and if you eat out quite a bit, you can easily meet or exceed your budget.
•Silliest Question came while in the Outer Banks. Oregon huh, did you drive all the way here? -The truck and trailer were together with our Oregon plates. (yep, it took us 5 months)
•Whats your longest drive day? -7 Hours through and around LA made it a long day, not the miles.
•Why aren’t there pics of Katy? -She prefers to not be in pictures. It’s been 17 years together, I respect that boundary.
•Craziest thing that’s happened on the road? -Two very close calls with semi trucks, Del Rio TX and NC/TN Border.
•How much does traveling cost. -Averages, lodging $850/Month and fuel $550/Month.

•Do you miss Bend? We definitely miss our friends (from the Hillsboro/Portland area too).
•Are you ready to settle down and go back to work? NO!!! We had a pretty short drive day today to just east of Memphis. #no_more_someday
