Campground then travel day.

Yesterday we hung out at the campground all day.  Cleaned and defrosted the fridge/freezer.  The heat and humidity were wreaking havoc on it it.  We got the dogs out for a 3 miler and then put them in the AC.  Talked with my mom and sister for a bit.  We received a visit from an orange butterfly who decided to hang out with us for quite a while.  Not sure if it liked the tablecloth or us.

We checked out the pool in the afternoon and hung out there for a few hours.  Even with a double application of sunscreen we may be considered medium or medium rare.  The water felt great as it was 92* in the shade with 80% humidity.

Today we got up and got going pretty early.  It’s a 3.5 hour drive up to Nashville with no stops.  The ride was pretty good.  We ended up stopping for gas twice.  Once to get us to a cheaper station, 3.49 to 3.05 a gallon for the fill.  On the I40, we were in the right lane going 65/70 and were being passed by a truck/trailer in the left lane.  I saw a quick flash of light in the passenger side mirror and we were passed on the shoulder by a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse.  It had to be doing 90 plus and was super reckless going around the vehicles in front of us.

About 20-30 miles further east, it was stopped with 4 police cruisers around it.  The doors and trunk were open and there was no driver present in the car.  Thank you officers and I hope the idiot enjoys or enjoyed their time with the police.  Maybe it’ll slow them down.  (Wishful Thinking).

We got to Nashville and it was a little warm.  We did laundry for the first time in a week, unpacked our Amazon order and got all set up.  We decided to let the Santa Fe Steakhouse cook for us.  The 1/2 rack of ribs was really good.  4.5/5*.  Off to explore for the next 5 days.
