Gatlinburg TN

Yesterday we got our walk and kettlebells in before going to explore.  It rained off and on until about 5pm.  We drove down to Gatlinburg to do the tourist thing.  We also put a roast in the crockpot to assist us in not eating out for dinner because we didn’t want to cook.

The town is cute and definitely a tourist hub.  There were people everywhere.  We found a $10 all day parking spot and took a walk.  We popped into a few shops here and there but we go light on the trinkets due to lack of room.

We stopped by Ole Smoky and tried some moonshine, then we bought some moonshine.  They also have a whiskey room down the road.  Check them both out when you are there.  It’s fun and they make a good product.  The wines in town are all very sweet in our opinion.

We wandered around the town a little more had lunch at Smith and Son Corner Kitchen.  We split a southern chicken sandwich, it was pretty good.  They have an interesting drink menu.  Can you see what we split?

After lunch we went a few more blocks and stopped at Sugarland Distillery for a tasting.  We also made a few purchases.  The tasting experience was great.  Our bartender has been there since they opened and he was hilarious.  He had so many one liners and stories while pouring for the 20 plus people around his bar.  “This one will remind you of 9th grade.  If you weren’t drinking in 9th grade, you didn’t hang out with people like me and your childhood sucked.”  That was one of my favorites.  This stop is a must…if you imbibe in the alcohol.

We got back around 5 and walked the kids.  Dinner was good by the way.  I also found a place that was hiring and has great benefits.  Off to do adult things today…like oil changes and stuff.
