Grand Ole Opry

Yesterday we hung out at the campground and got ready for our move day.  We did all the laundry, 5 wash loads, 4 dryer loads to the tune of $18.  We of course walked the kids, worked out and also played some games.  The TN lottery was not very kind to us.

We cooked some broccoli, mushrooms and pork chops on the blackstone.  Still getting used to it.  They were good.  We ended up taking 3 laps with the kids as we’ve never left them during the evening/night.  Our long walk was in the morning and Duncan ended up tearing our memory foam apart.  They had been good the previous 4 days with us leaving them.  When we got back, Duncan wouldn’t even look at us.  We fixed the mattress with gorilla tape and flipped it over.  Katy didn’t notice last night.

The highlight of the day was the Grand Ole Opry.  It was back to 100% capacity and said masks are optional if you want to wear them.  The show was great, one of the better concerts we’ve been to.  Not a lot of smoke and mirrors, or “showmanship “, just music and talking to the audience.  Gary Mule Deer played a bit of Johnny Cash, then did a comedy bit, it was hilarious.  Terry Bradshaw is a very good singer, in addition to all his other talents.  His daughter made her Opry debut.  A friend from Bend was in town and just happened to be one row and three seats to our left.  We could go on and on about the Opry experience, but you have to see it for yourself.  Section 20, Row C seats 9/10 are just about perfect.

This morning we are leaving the Nashville KOA, this is a great place and we highly recommend them too.  The shuttle downtown is a nice touch.  The pool and hot tub are also great.  I went back last night for one more soak.  I ran into Texas again, he didn’t remember talking to me at all from the previous nights.  There was a former financial advisor there who’s been living in an RV for 13 years and two other 40 year olds who are contemplating it.

Driving towards Kentucky today.  We only have a 37 minute drive to our Harvest Host.
