19th State
On Sunday we hit our 19th State. That would be Ohio. We drove from Trax Farm, around the south end of Pittsburgh, through the panhandle of West Virginia and into SE Ohio. We stayed at Rockside Winery near Lancaster. It was our 4th night boondocking and everything went off without a hitch. We had fun wine tasting and bourbon tasting. Three out of 5 were good, the others were too much like a peaty scotch to me.
When the winery closed, we moved to a different location in the parking lot among the vines. We received a heavy rain and it turned the limestone gravel to a gray mud. The dogs took on a new color. We threw the ball for them a bit and we’re treated to a nice sunset.
The wines were good and the wine slushes were dessert quality. Another harvest host win. 4 days on the trailer and I think we still had over a 1/3 in the fresh tank.
