21st State is our Home State

Yesterday we slow rolled the morning and headed for our 21st State, the State of Michigan.  We both grew up in the UP and never “camped”, besides going to camp.  Now we’re able to put our sticker on.

We arrived in Benton Harbor, got the rig set up and went to the laundromat.  We love laundry day and making laundry soup.  If you haven’t seen our earlier post, laundry soup is the mixing of all the detergents put into public washing machines.  It makes it so Tide or Gain doesn’t actually make your laundry smell like the liquid that comes out of the bottle.  It is an amalgamation of all the “flavors” rolled into one.  It is like a Sangria or Wapituli from college.

After laundry we rolled over to the lake to grab a bite to eat.  We had an early dinner at Planks Tavern as we had skipped lunch.  We split a mini margarita flight, which was a first for us.  I had the ribs which were great and Katy had Barbacoa tacos and they were also really good.

After dinner we came back and walked the dogs.  We sat outside for a few hours and enjoyed the lake breeze.
