Conkles Hollow

Yesterday we walked the dogs throughout the entire park, all the side roads.  It was just shy of 4 miles.  The dogs were tired, we had a late breakfast and then hit the road.

We stopped at Old Mans Cave for the WiFi access and sent off a few items.  We then drove over to Conkles Hollow for a hike.  The canyon hike was beautiful and pretty accessible.  We saw a large snake, don’t think it was poisonous.

We then tried the rim trail.  I’m sure it’s beautiful but there were a ton of warnings about the trail and the cliffs.  We got to the top and then warnings were correct.  Narrow trail and sheer cliffs.  We decided to turn around and head back to the truck.

After our hikes, we drove into town and stopped at Hocking Hills Winery.  It was a great stop.  The wines were good and it was a nice place to move some of our plans around.

Due to hot weather, we adjusted our Harvest Host plans and decided to stay at the state park another night.  Hookups and AC are a must at 90* with high humidity.

We got back at almost 5pm and hung out at the campsite.  The dogs stayed tired most of the day, I may have taken a nap in my lawn chair too.
