More of Ludington

Yesterday started off a bit rainy and overcast.  This threw a wrench in the kayaking/biking plans.  We walked the dogs between waves of rain and got a workout in.  We then headed a bit east and visited North Branch Winery.  It’s a nice little tasting room run by a retired first responder and his wife who is a healthcare worker.

The atmosphere and wines were great.  We may have walked out with a box of bottles.  Thank you Tom, we had a great time.  While at North Branch, Tom mentioned another new winery in the area.  Pere Marquette winery is south of Ludington and it just opened on July 3rd.  They also had some great wines.  It is really enjoyable to speak with the winemakers and see their passion for their wines.

After our tasting trips, it cleared up so we walked the kids again.  I got our bikes out and we bikes downtown for the Rhythm and Dunes concert.  It’s the first one since 2019.  The band played a lot of Jimmy Buffet and Beach boys.  They were pretty good and we had a nice time.

We stopped at Jamesport Brewery on the way back and grabbed a snack.  Katy had some soup and I had Pecan Perch fingers.  They were delicious, I can’t remember the last time I had perch.  We had hoped to see the SS Badger come in, but it didn’t get in until almost 10:40pm.  Oh well, next time.
