Pennsylvania Countryside

Yesterday we left at about 0930 and got to our Harvest Host at about 1:20.  This included a coffee stop at our first Sheetz.  The drive was beautiful as we stayed off the interstate.

We hit some pretty good ridges.  10% upgrades and downgrades. Did I mention I appreciate our diesel and engine braking?  Pennsylvania is way more hilly than I had pictured. We also passed some cool small towns and beautiful rivers (Juniata).

We got to Country Winery & Vineyard and got set up out in the field.  It is a beautiful quiet setting.  We put the dogs in the back of the truck and went into the winery.  The owner started the winery about 8 years ago and has a good variety of wines.  We really liked the Elvira which is a type of grape.  We may have taken a bottle with us.

It was a very relaxing afternoon and evening.  Lots of birds and then fireflies as it got dark.
