Quick Hop
When we booked our Harvest Host stay at Wadels Dairy Farm, we didn’t pay attention to how close it was to Gettysburg. Well, we do like short drive days.
Our checkout yesterday was at 2pm. We walked the dogs a lot, cleaned the rig, flushed the tanks, did laundry, swam and got a late start. 1:58pm to be exact. Our drive was 32 minutes. Not the best planning for gaining ground.
We made it to the farm about 2:40 and got set up (almost level) and met the farmers. We bought some beef and cheese from the farm and we tried the Swiss. It was great. We had some leftovers for dinner and had a few storms roll through.
The farmers also moved the cows onto new pasture so we got to watch about 100 head of cattle moving through. It was pretty cool. Two calf’s went into the wrong pasture and ended up staying in there for the night. Mom and babies were not happy and they were pretty vocal about it. Especially at 0500, first light. Their reunion at 0620 was pretty cute. We have a bit longer drive today. Three more nights with no hookups.
