Busy Week
It’s been a busy week here in da UP. The truck went into the shop for brakes, oil and fuel filters. If you’re in L’Anse, J&J Auto took care of us. I still need to get a transmission flush down the road somewhere. I’ve been able to run into a few other people I haven’t seen in a while which has been nice.
We’ve been checking out waterfalls, had a good storm on Wednesday afternoon and took a trip to Copper Harbor on Thursday. We did the Eagle Harbor loop and ended up not stopping at The Jam Pot. There had to be 20 people in line in the rain. Copper Harbor was pretty busy as far as tourists, but not much was open. We went to Brickside Brewery and had fish tacos from the food cart. They were some of the best fish tacos we’ve had on the trip. They are huge too.
Yesterday I got up early and went to town for my annual qualification. It went well, just like riding a bike. I came back to camp and got Katy. We headed for town to run some errands but found we need to go to Houghton again to get them done. We checked out the lower falls on the Falls River and then I got a message that the local blood drive was canceled.
We took a trip to the Baraga Casino, the last time we were there, we were with grandma Marie. The house won. We also stopped at the Baraga and L’Anse Legions for a drink. We played some pull tabs and had better luck than the casino. At least the money lasted longer. We’ve had some nice campfires and sunsets this week, but last night was too windy for a fire.
