MQT

It’s good to be back in Marquette for a little while.  We’ve reorganized the trailer a bit.  Took some stuff out of storage and put some items back in that we weren’t using.  We’ve made a few trips to the unit and it’s not as organized as it was.  I blame it on the heat.

We’ve done a bit of smoking and grilling on our Country Smokers Traveler, chicken, pork and steak.  Today is a Porketta that went on early this morning.  3 ish hour smoke then crockpot for the rest of the day.

Wednesday we paddled Middle Bay which was really nice.  It was hot with a nice lake breeze.  I found a nice sandbar and got out to walk and cool off.  We made it to the west side of the bay and then turned around.

Thursday morning I donated blood at the UP Regional Blood Center and took the kids for a drive.  I had coffee and breakfast at Java Bay and drove along the lake.  Katy and her parents went for a long bike ride.  After they got back, we all went for a ride around town.  It was nice getting back on my Trek Road-bike.  After our ride, we made dinner and hung out.

Friday we did a couple of rides.  Over 32 miles total.  It got hot in the afternoon too.  93* according to the radio.  The rides were nice though.  We looped town in the morning with Katy’s parents and out towards Harvey, then back into town and around Presque.

Katy and I walked the dogs and then biked back into town.  We stopped at Blackrocks Brewing and then Ore Dock.  Both were great stops and I enjoyed the Seltzer at Ore Dock.  After those two stops we headed back for Presque.  We rode around it again and stopped for a hot dog and Mint Mac Fudge Ice Cream.

We smoked some chicken for dinner and we all split a signed bottle of Tobin James wine.  It was still 85* at 8 and there were a few flies around so we came inside to enjoy the AC and a movie.  It’s been a good week.
