Out of LA
Friday we went back up to Houghton and did a quick shop. We may have also had another tostada… We felt bad for the people next to us. Their server was new or gave zero s#!ts about being a server. We had our food before they got their beers and we sat down after them.
We spent the weekend hanging out around camp. We did some paddling in the kayaks and I swam a few times. My family came out to visit, we cooked dinner a few times and had some nice sunsets. I’m going to miss campfires on the hill. On a side note, I procured a semi truck rim and made a new fire pit out of it. It’s impressive how tough that steel is. I killed a 1/2 drill bit by putting 16 holes in the rim for airflow. I did a two hour burn in it to clean it up and it looks like it’ll work well.
Yesterday we left at about 10:15, thanks Tim and Wendy for the hospitality. We pulled in at my moms and we did two loads of laundry as well as washing the truck and camper. I even did the roof. It was in need of a scrub. The roof had never been done and the truck/camper haven’t been done since Pigeon Forge. I’m excited that rain isn’t in the forecast for a while.
We made our way to Marquette and got into our park after 4pm which is late for us. We received our directions and found someone in our spot. This would be no big deal if we weren’t going to be here for two weeks. We talked to the people who assured us they were in their correct spot. Turns out they were in our spot and had to move. I think they’re getting comped a night for having to move. This was a first for 9 months on the road.
Katy’s parents came down for dinner and we had a nice visit. After they headed for home we walked the kids and caught up on our Sunday shows that we missed.
