3 New States (25,26,27)
Yesterday we left NH and planned on staying at a Harvest Host in Rhode Island. We woke up to sun and fog down in the valley. The pics didn’t do it justice. We got in touch with the winery and their 5 spots were taken.
I found a State Park in RI that was pet friendly and had 8ish open sites. We pointed the rig in that direction and trusted we would get a spot. We hit a few new states, Massachusetts was first, followed by Connecticut where we stopped at a Walmart for restocking. We had also stopped at the Davidian Family farm in Massachusetts which was a great stop.
After Walmart, we snuck into Rhode Island. From what we have seen, these states do not look like what I (Tom) had in mind. They are hillier than I imagined. We got to our state park and learned the price was double for out of state individuals. Makes Oregon’s 25% seen pretty light.
We found a nice spot, site 61 in George Washington State Park. After very minimal set up, we walked the kids and came back to make a fire. We had acquired 3 bundles of wood, left behind in the rain at our last park. Free wood burns really nice.
