As of yesterday it has been one year since we sold our home and moved into a travel trailer. A few things have changed, our address constantly changes, our trailer has changed (critical for a year on the road for us) and we still don’t have jobs. We’re still having a great time and as Dr Seuss said, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go.”
On 9/21/20 we moved into the Sisters Garden RV Park after locking our house up for the last time and it was my 40th birthday. At that time, we had a loose plan on where our travels would take us but we weren’t sure where we would be. On 9/21/21, we were parked at Mountain View Campground just north of Stowe Vermont. The loose plan turned out to be better than I believe both of us expected. So much so that we have our second year “on the road” planned out. Florida for the winter and Montana for the summer. We have jobs in Montana and are looking for jobs in FL.
Yesterday we traveled west to Jeffersonville and then back to Stowe on the 108 through Smugglers Notch. The road is awesome, but not meant for big rigs. It’s narrow and curvy with a 16% downgrade. Highly recommend the drive though, it is beautiful. We then got back on the 100 and headed south. We stopped at quite a few farm stands, small shops and some other stores. We had a snack at Lawsons Finest Liquids and maybe a beer and cider.
We tried to go to Ben and Jerry’s, but there was a 40 minute wait. I decided the Cherry Garcia wasn’t worth the 40 ish minutes. We came back up to the rig, walked the dogs and had dinner. We put a Porketta in the crockpot before leaving and split a bottle of Heath Adoration. Great night. I also had the hot tub to myself again which was a bonus.
