Bicycle Tour
Yesterday we took off on the bikes and explored a good chunk of the Cape Cod Rail Trail. We did roughly 32 miles on the CCRT and rode through the cute small town of Orleans. We also visited Marconi Beach which was our turnaround point.
There were quite a few surfers at the beach and there seemed to be a decent break a little north from the stairs. Some of the guys had black stripes painted on the bottom of their boards. Shark deterrent.
On the ride back we stopped in Orleans at Sparrow Hot Chocolate and picked up a tea and smoothie. This was the 26 mile mark and my legs were heavy. We finished the ride, walked the dogs and then looked for a late lunch.
We struck out at the first few places and ended up at the Lobster Shanty. I had some really good Cod and Chips and Katy had a lobster roll. It was all pretty good. We then headed up to Truro winery and split a tasting. The wines were really good and it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Back at the trailer we fed the kids, made a late dinner and watched 21. Overall it was a good day. Today we headed north.
