Stowe, VT
Yesterday we got up and had breakfast at the Cider Mill. We called and got an early arrival to our campground. We checked in right at noon, a bit northeast of Stowe. It was a 30 minute drive from the Cider Mill and Stowe looked really nice as we rolled through. There was a ton of southbound traffic at Stowe and it was backed up about 1/2 a mile.
We got set up and walked the dogs before heading back into town. Things had slowed down a bit in town and we walked the main area on the 100. We noticed signs for a farmers market and explored west on the 108. The farmers market was really nice. We bought a few local items and checked out Stowe Cider, followed by The Bench to split a late lunch. The Bench also had apple cider margaritas. Sounds weird, but they were good. We also had some maple ice cream at The Red Barn and it was really good.
We got back to the campground and walked a few laps with the kids. On the drive back we got cut off by a tour bus. He turned so fast the back door flew open. Must’ve been in a big hurry to end the day. We tried to hang outside, but the neighbors had three dogs who loved to bark at everything. One of them didn’t get leashed up and decided to come hang out on our trailer porch, that didn’t work out well. The neighbors couldn’t care less when I said Maggie isn’t really dog friendly. The guy said it’s a bummer all dogs can’t get along and proceeded to dilly dally before hooking his dog up. On a side note, this couple took off this morning with their awning still out on their class c. I stopped them and they fixed it. You’re welcome.
Last night I tried out the hot tub at the park. Haven’t used one in months. I ended up sharing it with an inebriated couple which was interesting. They told very slow and slurred stories. When they were leaving, the guy physically couldn’t get out of the hot tub, his legs wouldn’t work. With marginal assistance from the wife, I was able to pick him up out of the tub and get him into a lawn chair. After a few minutes of cooling off, he was able to stand and eventually get back to his rig.
We ended the day with our favorite RV YouTube families. What a day.
