The Road to Vermont (23 States)

Yesterday we hit the road at 1pm.  We started the day with laundry and flushing the tanks.  It’s nice to get on the road all caught up.  As we were leaving Lake Placid, a storm was moving in from the NW.  We took a lot of back roads (County Roads) and passed through a bunch of quaint towns.

As we crossed the bridge over Lake Champlain into Vermont, the storm caught up with us.  The winds were so strong, it caused the truck to downshift on a flat road.  A lot of boats were scrambling to get off the lake.  It quickly passed and we didn’t have to deal with a bunch of rain.  The drive turned out to be really nice with only 20 miles of freeway.

We stayed at Cold Hollow Cider Mill.  Another Harvest Host, have we mentioned we love Harvest Hosts?  We found a parking spot and headed to the Cider Mill.  We tried a few ciders and then bought some supplies from the store.

We cooked a pork tenderloin on the grill and were treated to a nice sunset.  There happens to be a church next door and it looks quintessential northeast.  It made for a nice backdrop.
