Augusta ME
Yesterday we hung around in the morning waiting to move sites. It was a pretty slow morning with lots of coffee. It had clouded up so we didn’t get up for sunrise. There was also a bit of fog that rolled in as it got into the low 40s.
The rig that was leaving our new site just had to wait to move sites as well. He got his class A closer to the ocean and we moved up the hill. We can still see the ocean from the side windows and our site, but it’s not oceanfront. That’s OK, it’s half price. I was also able to land a ticket for Cadillac Mtn for Tuesday. The 102 tickets sell out in the first two minutes of release. Two days ago I missed it because I entered my email incorrectly.
After moving our rig, we loaded up the dogs and headed for Augusta. We needed dog food and also stopped into Target in search of a table lamp. We found one and the glow is really nice. It makes the rig feel more like a home. We had lunch at a BBQ place on Riverfront and it was really good. We also swung by the Capitol and took some pics. I didn’t get too close as there were a few people with signs standing on the front steps. Odd for a Sunday afternoon.
The drive up and back was nice and dotted with a few small towns. We made note of a few small markets and were able to stop at one on the way back. We picked up some soup and a slice of apple pie to go. They were both good. We got back and I went to the water for sunset. The tide wasn’t all the way out so the point blocked a bit of it. We watched our Sunday shows and called it a night.
