Belfast ME
Yesterday we didn’t venture out too far. I got up to check out the sunrise. It was a nice walk on the beach, but the sunrise was plain. I thought I had some pics, but it appears I do not. I did find a pocketful of sea glass.
We figured Bar Harbor and Acadia would be packed and Searsport had a fall festival. A neighbor told us about an indoors farmers market in Belfast so we decided to check that out.
After walking a lap or two with the kids we headed into town. We found parking right outside the market and headed in. There were probably 60 Maine vendors in there so we did our grocery shopping with local farmers. It was really a great set up and runs year round on Saturday from 9-1 or 2.
After the market we walked around the harbor and town of Belfast. It was pretty quiet and more our speed. There were some amazing “boats” or Yachts in the harbor. One of them was a sail boat, the Antares III that was $10,000,000 and is owned by a billionaire. It costs $1,000,000 a year to operate. It set sail when we were there, it looks good in the water, underway. There were also some impressive power yachts in the water and dry dock.
We split some lunch and then took a drive south to check out a few more markets. We didn’t spend any money, but they were nice little shops. The dogs got a few laps when we got back and we had a fire. It was windy and cold so we didn’t stay out too long after sunset.
