Boothbay Harbor

Yesterday we took a drive over to Boothbay Harbor.  Our first stop was at a Flower stand in Durham along the side of the road.  The owner left a note saying the flowers were free and talked about losing their mother a few years ago.  We thought it was a nice gesture and left some money for a coffee, etc.  The flowers were beautiful.

We passed through some awesome towns on our travels.  Brunswick, Bath, Wiscasset, Boothbay and into Boothbay Harbor.  Bath has a shipbuilding yard and the USS Carl Levin is being finished up.  Levin was a representative from Michigan for a long time and his name is recognizable to people my age from Michigan.

Boothbay Harbor is such a cute ocean town.  We walked the town for a while and I bought a new pair of socks at one of the shops.  My Keen socks had a blowout.  The new ones from Farm to Feet are pretty comfortable.  They might be giving Darn Tough a run for their money.

We split a blackened fish sandwich at Kalers Restaurant and had a table practically on the water.  After lunch we took a drive to the south on the 27 and 238 and looped back into town.

We slowly made our way back and ran the pups for a second time.  I made a fire and we had already made dinner which was a pork roast on the crockpot.  The fire turned out good, the roast, not so much.  Not sure what’s on tap for today.  Hoping it clears up a bit so we can head to Peaks Island.
