Mini Road Trip (Maine)

Yesterday we hung out in the morning.  I spent some time on the beach again looking for glass.  It is really relaxing and the time flies by.  The workamper at the park were kind enough to give me a rivet gun to fix our broken grill.  He also gave me a bigger piano hinge to put the lid back on.  Coleman grills doesn’t make things like they used to.

We took a ride through some backroads and worked our way south towards Rockland.  We stopped at Beth’s Farm Market which is a must do if you’re looking for local meat and produce.  They also have a ton of homemade canned and baked goods.

We had lunch at Archers on the ocean in Rockland.  The food was great and the servers were working so hard.  This is one of the first places where we saw some ungrateful entitled customers.  The staff handled it like champs, I bet it happens more often than we know.  Have a little compassion and patience for the ones who do come to work.  We see so many signs on places of business that say closed due to lack of staffing.

We picked up a few more essentials at a couple different stores and made our way back north up the 1.  What a beautiful day.  Low 70s for mid October in Maine, we are so lucky with the weather we’ve had for the past 10 months.

We got back after 4 and walked the kids a few laps.  I finished fixing the grill, put the bikes away and pre made some breakfast for our upcoming days of boondocking.  Katy made a great meatloaf with homemade chipotle mayo.  We were also treated to an amazing sunset over Penobscot Bay.  We’ll miss Maine for sure.
