Hunter Springs (No Job)
Yesterday morning we got rolling pretty early. I biked over to a place that I’m interested to work at. I stopped in there Saturday on a whim and checked the shop out. I asked the owner if he was looking for help and he asked if I saw the Facebook post. I told him I hadn’t and just happened to stop by and ask.
He was excited as he usually gets HS and 19 year olds coming by. He asked where I lived so I told him and was honest with him about leaving in April. This changed the tone of the conversation and he said he was looking for someone long term. He took my information just in case. The bike ride over took 10 minutes including waiting at the stoplight. I loitered for a while while he was working with customers. After they left we talked for quite a while. He said on one hand he was looking for long term, but on the other hand he didn’t want his wife working in the shop. I again reiterated that I wanted the work and he said he’d let me know.
I biked back and we walked the dogs. We then biked down to the gulf. It was a beautiful ride, a bit breezy but nice. After our ride, we had a quick snack and loaded the boats up. We headed into Hunter Springs and went for a paddle around the bay. We saw tons of fish and probably 2 dozen Manatees. It was really cool. Katy and I both applied at a local Kayak and tour shop. We’ll see what happens.
I’m currently drinking coffee and debating on going to learn Pickleball. It’s 47*. We’ll see, I have 45 minutes to decide.
