Pickleball and Recreation

Yesterday I ended up playing Pickleball for the first time.  I rode over to the courts with Faith and Troy on our bikes.  With the lap through the park it wound up being a 10 mile RT.  When retired folks tell you they are busy every day, just know, they are.

Pickleball was fun and I think I was picking it up pretty good at the end.  I do have some old racquetball habits that I need to get away from.  I may swing my paddle like a racquetball racquet from time to time and hit the ball when it’s clearly going out of play.  I’m used to the idea that if you can hit it, get the hit.  I’ll work on it.

While I was off playing ball, Katy did a stack of laundry and took care of the kids.  When I got back we got ready to hit the water again.  I did a set of my swings while trying to inflate my paddle board and broke my pump.  Friends to the rescue with an electric pump.  I should’ve had one of these years ago.  So efficient, so little effort.  We also took the kids for a lap around the park.

We had a great 3 mile paddle from Hunter Spring, our past Pete’s Marina and up to 3 Sisters Springs.  The fish and manatees were plentiful.  It was good to be back on my Isle inflatable board again.  The last time was at Three Creeks Lake, well over a year ago.

We got back and walked the dogs again.  I put our gear away and we had pulled pork for dinner.  We watched the movie Big Daddy as it was on prime and we hadn’t watched it in years.
