PB Florida
Tuesday we swung by Lighthouse Vet Clinic in Lehigh Acres after camping in the church lot. We were able to get some Bravecto for the dogs without having to have the dogs get a checkup. The roads were pretty tight and there was no way I was getting out of the parking lot if I got in. I took the long way around and parked in a neighborhood while Katy and the kids stayed in the rig.
We then headed east and started to listen to Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey for a second time. We pulled into John Stretch park on the south side of Lake Okeechobee and used the dump station. It was in great shape. We then pulled around to the picnic side of the park where there are fresh water spigots and picnic shelters. We had a nice lunch, filled up with fresh and walked the dogs. With the heat and no direction, it was time to get to work on finding a spot. The boondocking was/is pretty limited other than overnight, no unhooking spots.
Katy found John Prince County Park and it was pretty darn reasonable and close to the beach. We stopped at Bernars Farm Market on the way for some supplies. We were supposed to stay there Wednesday. We got to the campground and got set up pretty quickly. It’s nice to have hookups with the heat.
The past few days we’ve been exploring Palm Beach, Lake Worth and West Palm beach. The ocean on this side is beautiful too with turquoise water near shore. We’ve walked several beaches, been caught in a rain storm far from the truck and enjoyed our time on the Atlantic. We also enjoyed a few Well drinks while a storm passed…until we saw the bill.
Yesterday we were in West Palm Beach and drove past Mar A Lago. As you head north from there, the houses are amazing. I also thought I saw Vin Diesel driving a blue Ferrari, but it was probably a stunt double. The area seems pretty spendy.
On a side note, our screen door also broke again. This is the second time. If we could do it over, we wouldn’t have these windows, screens or door on our rig. I almost forgot to mention that we applied to two more jobs this week. We interviewed for one of them. It was in Austin TX and we found out they are looking for someone who can stay longer. I guess we don’t need to work…
