Southbound and down.

Friday we got a few rides in and did a bit of organizing.  The dolphins at the end of the path were amazing.  They were fishing right by shore.  I put up a video on the gram.  We went into town and had lunch at Paddles BBQ truck.  The food was good and the portions were big.  After lunch we hit up Publix for some supplies.  The weather was in the low to mid 80’s, humid and almost no breeze.

Later in the afternoon, I noticed the Orlando job we put in for was no longer listed and our application was out of the system.  We had felt pretty confident about this one after our phone interview and it perfectly fit our timeline.  We didn’t even get a courtesy call to say no thanks.

We took this as our clue that it’s time to get on the road again.  We packed up Lola again and loaded the roof down with boats and filled the rocket box.  I put the hitch back on and we prepped for a sometime Saturday departure.  We each had a 2oz pour of our commemorative Gentlemen Jack as we hung out and watched Christmas movies.  Hard to believe it’s been a year.

Yesterday we got up and got moving pretty quickly.  Lots of laundry, a deep clean, tank flushing and site cleaning.  I ended up having to repack the back of the truck as I had done it just a little different than before.  It was hot and I was soaked.  I hooked everything up and used the pool for the second time of our 6 weeks.  The heater is on in it now and it too was hot.

We got on the road at about 1:10 and had a nice drive down to St Pete.  We tried to stop at a beach up by Tarpon Springs on the way, but there was no parking.  We found a great spot on i Overlander and had a good nights sleep near a boat launch.  There’s also a nice beach.  The signs say 48 hour parking allowed so we will likely stay another night.  Oh, and there was a nice sunset.  Crystal River was nice, but for feeling physically the most settled we have been, mentally we were very unsettled.  We hope the road brings us back if that makes sense.
