49th State

Yesterday was a little drive day for us.  The drive up to Branson MO was right around 90 miles and took about 2.5 hours.  It was like a roller coaster ride and we were pulling our home.  It was definitely a beautiful drive and we’d love to do it in the fall when the colors are peaking.

We drove through Eureka Springs and will have to go back as there was no room for the trailer.  We made it to the State Line and crossed into our 49th state, Missouri, on a small country road.  There wasn’t much fanfare or flair to the sign.  The park allowed us to check in a few hours early so we got set up, had lunch and walked the dogs.  It was a short drive up to Branson from the park and we stopped at Lindwedel Winery.  The view of Branson is great, but the wine is a little sweet for us.  They gave us the locals scoop and sent us up to Top of The Rock.  The property is owned by the owner of Bass Pro and Cabelas.

I could go on and on about the beauty of this property.  We did the golf cart tour and museum package.  It is totally worth the price of admission and should be done on a clear day.  The golf cart tour is very unique and the museum has more Native American Artifacts than I’ve ever seen.  The lodge is amazing and so is the chapel.  We could’ve spent the entire day up here and would have if we had known more about it.

We then came home, fed the kids, had dinner, made dinner for today and did some laundry.  One state to go, but more exploring to go in MO.
