Hanging in The Flathead
We worked Friday and Saturday last week then hit our 3 days off. I hope we stick with 4 on 3 off with the occasional half day in there. Work continues to go good and a few more work campers have rolled in.
Sunday we did a 25 mile bike ride down to Pablo. We found a really cool memorial for locals who have gone to war. The detail in the granite is amazing. We tried to tour the town but were chased by 5 loose dogs…time to leave. When we got back to town we had a snack and a beer before coming back to the campground. We watched most of our Sunday YouTube shows and proceeded to fall asleep before 9.
Monday was a quick Costco run to Missoula. We saw a large black bear on the way. It was moving pretty fast along a grassy hillside near Arlee. We found a few things we were looking for, had a quick lunch and a stop at Big Sky Brewery. It’s a cool venue. We had a flight and seltzer and headed back for Polson.
Yesterday we deep cleaned the rig and flushed our tanks in the morning. We ran and walked the dogs before heading out exploring. We ended up stopping by Mission Mountain Winery for a tasting. The wines are good and we took a bottle of Chardonnay to go. We split a quick lunch at The Chuckwagon and then came back home. We walked the dogs, did meal prep and washed 3 loads of laundry. Overall it was a good stretch of days.
In my last post, I forgot to mention an interaction we had near Ronan. I pulled over to take a picture of an old barn. A lady in an old white Ford stopped to ask where in Oregon we are from. I said, Bend. Her reply was, I guess that’s not so bad but it’s still really close to the dark side. She then drove off.
