Fire Season
The fire season has kicked off in the Mission and Flathead Valleys. I can tell you that we haven’t missed wildfire in any way. It’s been hot and dry with temps over 100 and windy. The Elmo Fire is now over 16k acres and there is one in the mountains outside St Ignatius.
Work was pretty slow this week, we had one busy day of arrivals. We also cut grass two days while it was hot. It was a butt kicker. We had Saturday off so we hit the Cherry Festival. It was a good time, we bought some trinkets, some cherries and raffle tickets. I won a hunting pack which was a surprise because I rarely win things.
We had some beers and split a chicken sandwich at Glacier and later stopped at The Tiki Bar. We met some cool people and helped park a few boats. We also met Theodore who is a special Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He had his spine compressed and is learning to walk. What a sweet boy, we would take him in if we had a traditional home.
We have family in town until Saturday so we will likely be out doing a little exploring. We had a nice little bike ride around town yesterday.
On a side note, we caught someone trying to get dibs on the carpool lane on Saturday.
