First Time

Yesterday we got up and hit the road pretty early.  We had a nice sunrise and still have a pup with a stomach ache.  More rice and chicken broth in his future with an occasional Imodium.

Our first stop was Walmart for fuel.  We paid $4.93/gal.  We saw quite the price range on our travels yesterday, $4.89 to $6.04.  Our second stop was Black Rifle Coffee in Clarksville TN.  We picked up some ground coffee, two coffees and some snacks.  This shop is decorated with Airborne and Nightstalker memorabilia and photos.  We’ve been to quite a few and appreciate the coffee cause and their uniqueness.

Back on the interstate towards Nashville, some nice folks in a minivan pulled up alongside us and got my attention.  I rolled the window down and they guy yelled that we had a flat on the trailer.  This was a first for us.  I got pulled over and checked it out.  It was the front driver side tire and traffic was whizzing by.  I checked to see when the next exit was and it was almost 4 miles.  If it was closer I would’ve tried to pull up to it.

I got further off the road and backed up on 3 leveling blocks.  Katy was out of the truck watching oncoming traffic and that is the fastest I’ve changed a tire.  It was pretty blown out on the inside of the tire and I’m surprised we didn’t hear it or feel it.  The I24 is a little rough in the right lane though.

We had the tire replaced at Discount Tire in Smyrna TN and we’re back on the road to Chattanooga in no time.  The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful and we got set up in our spot rather easily.  We ended up hanging out for the rest of the night and had Spanish rice with Peach Jalapeño salsa from one of our farm stays.
