Spring forward, Fall Back.

It’s hard to believe that we have been here for almost two weeks.  We moved spots in the park to a pavement pull through.  It feels a little less like boondocking with amenities.  We still have a few fire ants and my feet are tore up from working around the trailer.

I picked up a job at the local Ace.  I guess I’ll be a semi helpful hardware folk.  I start tomorrow and am pretty excited that things have fallen into place down here.  It’s also a quick walk to work.

As for exploration, I did a 25 mile bike ride to the Suwannee River Bridge.  The Nature Coast Trail is a great paved former rail line.  We’re going to be spending more time on it.  We also headed out to Trenton and looked around a bit.  We shopped at Trader Joe’s in Gainesville last weekend too.

This week we headed back to Cedar Key and wandered around.  We had lunch at Duncan’s on the water and later stopped into 83 West.  83 West is a great little spot right on the water with some nice seating with roll up windows.  There was a Pirate Fest starting up so things were getting busy.

Yesterday we headed out to Ginnie Springs.  It’s a private spring and it was $15/pp to get in.  It didn’t look too busy until we got down to the water.  There it was a glimpse into MTV Spring Break.  Young adults hanging off the sides of vehicles holding onto tube, lots of club music and lots of beers and vaping.  It was a s#!+ show.  We finally got the boards in the water and it actually got worse on the paddle.  We turned around after a short up river ride and got out of there.  It’s beautiful, but don’t go on a nice weekend.  We’re going to try a new spot today.

Yesterday I unloaded my mountain bike.  It hasn’t been used in over a year and was only used 3 or 4 times in two years.  I put a sign on it “Free As-Is” and it only lasted about 15 minutes before the neighbor grabbed it.  We hope they get some use out of it.  It’s also time change…boo.
