Santa Rosa Beach

We’ve been in the Seaside-Destin area for 8 nights after leaving TTO.  Our first stop after our 7 hour drive was Grayton Beach State Park.  We got settled in a little before 4, walked the dogs and went to the beach.  The color and clarity of the water along this stretch of Florida is amazing.  The water was pretty warm too, not like the keys but still warm.

During our stay we did quite a bit of dog walking and bike riding.  We walked around Seaside a couple of times, this is where The Truman Show was filmed so we had to watch that again.  I had never been here, but Katy came here with her mom and grandma when she was 15.  Town was busy, but cute.

As for food, we cooked a lot but went out a few times.  Beach Camp Brewing has some great beers, Katy likes the Hoppy ones and found Cato the Elder.  This one is very Hoppy at 120ibu.  They messed up our pretzel twice, one time it was over cooked and the second time it was under cooked and cold in the center.  I had high hopes.  Based off a recommendation we biked to Red Fish Taco and really enjoyed our food and margaritas.  The grouper tacos and brisket tacos are amazing.  If you’re in the area, we highly recommend this stop.

After 4 nights at Grayton, we moved to Topsail State Park which was a 10 minute drive towards Destin.  This park is huge and also has full hookups.  We landed a long gravel spot by the water and did quite a bit of biking while we were here.  There is no driving yourself to the beach, you can walk, bike or take the tram.  The beach is gorgeous as well and we spent a few afternoons down in the water.

We have a few days left on the Gulf and then we head to Northern Texas for a few months so we are trying to soak in a bit of beach time.  I think the beautiful clear water might start to go away as we continue west, but it’s still the ocean right.

As far as school goes, I’ve been shopping for supplies and have a tool order headed for the facility.  I was also able to set up my LLC last week.  It’s the second time I’ve owned my own business, more on that later.
