TTO

After leaving the keys, we headed to Thousand Trails Orlando, also known as TTO by the RV community.  We stayed for 4 nights and moved on the first morning.  We were in the new section and there was a sewer manhole cover about 6’ behind our bumper.  The wind was just right and it was “burping”.  Gross smell.  We moved over by the bathroom and laundry house in the new section and everything was smooth sailing after that.

We went to Costco for some supplies, Chuy’s for Cinco de Mayo, biked 8.6 miles in the park and explored MT Dora.  It’s amazing how big the park really is and we didn’t hit all the streets when looking at the map.  The area is nice and maybe we’ll be back to hit up the amusement parks.  We were both surprised with how hilly the terrain is to the north and west of Orlando.  We also stopped at the Showcase of Citrus.
It’s a little tourist trap and citrus fruits are actually out of season.  I think a lot of folks don’t know that citrus is a winter fruit.  I didn’t until our friend Jeff told us a few years ago.

MT Dora is a cute little town on a lake and they have a marina that links to other locations on the lake.  They offer tours and cruises and the park area close to the water is nice.  We parked a few blocks out of town and walked in.  We had lunch at Cody’s then took a lap around town.  After our walk we picked up some mimosas to go and headed back to the park.  This is a cute little area in Florida and worth a stop if you’re up to driving an hour-ish out of Orlando.

We left TTO on Sunday for a 7 hour drive up into the pan handle for more exploring on our way to Texas.
